Oh my gosh, you guys, this movie is so good. Why had I never seen it before? It’s all film noir and Orson Welles and yeah. It’s fantastic.

It’s available for streaming on Netflix and I highly recommend it.

The setting is wonderful, post-war Vienna, it’s perfect for the story. There are all of these wonderful chases through the rubble, including the big one at the end. The music is great. The writing is great. When things happen that you maybe know are going to happen, it’s satisfying rather than just obvious. The movie is a lot of fun. There’s a reason it’s on so many “Best” lists. Because it’s wonderful.
