Give me a day off and a house to myself, what do I do? Cook food, pour a glass of wine, and watch movies all night. Yup. Too bad I don’t have more of these nights.

Forks Over Knives is a documentary I’ve been meaning to watch for a while, pretty much since I saw a trailer for it before Greatest Movie Ever Sold. Being a vegetarian, it’s the sort of subject matter I always find interesting. My reasons for giving up the meat are less for the health reasons but I kind of love that more and more people are coming to understand that a vegetarian diet is not just salads and pizza and grilled cheese.

Forks Over Knives offers a lot of really interesting info on the health side of meat vs. non-meat diets and I really do appreciate the insight into the science. I found Forks Over Knives to be informative without being overly preachy or alarmist. Plus, there’s a cookbook! Appropriately I tried a variation of one of the recipes for dinner last night (I didn’t have all of the ingredients so I subbed a couple) and it was pretty delicious. Barley & bean soup. Yum.

Check out the trailer and find the link to the website for more info.

Other movie I watched last night was Morning Glory. Seen this one before and I like it. I mean, it’s a movie about a 28-year-old workaholic television producer. I can maybe relate to this.
