Orson Welles, Gary Cooper, and Humphrey Bogart. Yesterday was kind of epic. I also finally had time to actually FINISH The Stranger which I’ve been dragging out in 20 minute bursts over the last week and a half. And I may have gotten Treasure of the Sierra Madre from Netflix three weeks ago. Gah, Feb has been busy.

I probably won’t watch a movie tonight either since it’s class night. But maybe tomorrow. And then Feb will be over and I’ll have hardly watched anything at all. Oh well. I did other things.

Like camping! I totally went camping last weekend. It was amazing. And I clearly needed the break because right now I’m the most relaxed I’ve been in the last two months at least. I took a bunch of pictures on a disposable camera because I do things like that but apparently CVS won’t develop those anymore. I’ll figure that out. Eventually I’ll post stuff to flickr.

In the meantime, watch movies. High Noon was my favorite of yesterday’s three. So much going on with character and man, the tension that the time constraints create is unbelievable. What a good device. And Grace Kelly in that dress? Gorgeous. The Stranger is a solid film noir but it’s not really my favorite thing, even if Orson Welles is wonderful as always. I did really like the ending though. Treasure of the Sierra Madre is just a great cowboy adventure movie with some spectacular writing.

I love westerns.

Apparently you can watch The Stranger online here if you don’t have Netflix streaming. Or if you miss it on Netflix because I think it might be one of the movies going away in the next couple of days: The Stranger.
